Character Trait Posters
This year my goal is to have less mess in my classroom. When I taught summer school it was not in my own building, so I only brought what I really thought I needed. When there is less clutter I find there is more peace and I think all of us teachers can agree that we can use all the peace we can get in our classroom. Therefore, what I do put on my walls and on my counter tops needs to be up there because it serves a purpose.
These Character Trait Posters support what is in the planner I created and help me to incorporate that focus into the everyday moments in my classroom.
In my classroom I have a bulletin board, that I will be posting on here soon, that has a focus on character and growth mindset. I plan to put the character trait posters on that board.

Planner
If you don't want to read on and just want to see the planner, here is a link:
I am the "bring all the groceries into the house in one trip" kind of gal, so I wanted to pack as much in this planner as possible.
In fifth grade our students need character education and we don't always have set aside time for that. That's why I created pages that have a different character trait for every month.
Growth mindset is something all of us teachers are learning about and teaching our students to have. There is a spot for weekly reflection so that students can think about what challenged them, a mistake they've made and what they learned from it.
Instead of students focusing on what went wrong with their day I've added in a daily reflection checklist that is all about what went well. Students can fill this part out or you, their teacher, can! There is a box next to it for teachers to sign or write down other important information. Students also get to write down one thing that went well each day.
I really hope that this planner can be a "one stop shop," for myself and my students. I hope it can do the same for you!
